The PA UK/US Price Comparison Index analyses the prices at which the top 20 original fiction titles and top 20 mass market fiction titles are available at a wide range of UK retailers - W H Smith, Waterstone's, British Bookshops (formerly known as Sussex Stationers), and non-specialist outlets from the supermarkets and general merchandise sectors - and by Amazon.co.uk, WHSmith.co.uk and Waterstones.co.uk - and through Amazon.com, and Barnes and Noble.com.

The survey has been carried out in liaison with Nielsen BookScan on a quarterly basis since 2001 (although originally started in 1999), but reduced to three times a year since 2011.  For the more recent comparison click on the graphic below.
